Jimi JC400 Dash Cam Offline? How to Get It Back Online Fast
Charles Alexis
The Jimi IoT JC400 is a popular 4G fleet dash cam. When it shows offline, the cause is almost always power, SIM or server settings.
First, what does “offline” mean?
Offline means the platform has not heard from the camera for a while. It does not tell you whether the camera is broken, unpowered or just cannot reach the server. You need to work through the possibilities.
Start by checking when it was last online and where. If it went offline in an underground car park, the answer might be simple.
Step 1: check power
- Is the vehicle on? Many JC400 setups only report when ignition is on, or go into a low power state when parked. Check whether it comes online with the engine running.
- Is it hardwired properly? A loose earth or a blown fuse means no power. See our guide to hardwire kits not working.
- Are the lights on? If the camera has no indicator lights at all, it has no power.
Step 2: check the SIM
- SIM seated properly. Check it has not been knocked loose.
- SIM active with data. Check the SIM has not expired or run out of data. Video uses far more data than tracking alone.
- PIN disabled. A PIN-locked SIM will not work in the camera.

Step 3: check the APN and server settings
On most Jimi devices, settings can be checked and changed by SMS commands sent to the camera’s SIM number. Command formats vary between models and firmware, so always check the manual for your exact version. On many Jimi and Concox devices the format looks like:
APN,yourapn#to set the APNSERVER,...#to set the server address and portPARAM#orSTATUS#to check current settings and status
If the camera replies to an SMS, it has power and network. If it replies but still shows offline, the APN or server address is likely wrong.
Step 4: check signal
Where is the vehicle parked? Basements, steel buildings and remote sites can block 4G. Move the vehicle somewhere with good signal and see if it reconnects.
Step 5: check the SD card
On some dash cams, a failed SD card can cause the device to restart repeatedly, which shows up as going on and offline. See dash cam SD card error.
Step 6: restart and update
Power cycle the camera fully. If the manufacturer has released firmware updates for your model, apply them. Stability fixes are common.
Still offline?
If it has power, a working SIM, correct settings and good signal and still will not come online, the camera’s modem may have failed. At that point, contact your supplier.

Using Jimi cameras with Traknova
Traknova works with Jimi IoT devices, so you can run your existing JC400 cameras alongside trackers, immobilisers and other hardware on one platform. Offline cameras show up as alerts instead of something you discover weeks later.
See our Jimi IoT integration and connected dash cameras pages.
Summary
Check power, then SIM, then APN and server settings, then signal. Use SMS commands to confirm the camera is alive. Most offline JC400s are back up within those four steps.
