Teltonika KeepCam and ProCam Explained: ADAS, DSM and Live Video
Charles Alexis
Teltonika has launched its first all-in-one AI dashcams, and they change what a single box behind the windscreen can do for a fleet.
What Teltonika launched
In October 2026 Teltonika announced two new dashcams: the KeepCam and the ProCam. Both combine tracking, 4G connectivity, live video and on-device AI in one unit.
That’s a bigger shift than it sounds. Teltonika’s older cameras, like the DualCam, plugged into a separate Teltonika tracker. The tracker handled location and connectivity, and the camera handled video. The new models do both. You don’t need another Teltonika device to make them work.
- KeepCam is built for light vehicles: cars, taxis, PHVs and small vans
- ProCam is built for professional and heavier fleets: vans, trucks and trailers
If you’re new to fleet cameras in general, our complete guide to dashcams for fleet vehicles covers the basics first.
Why Teltonika matters in the UK market
Teltonika is one of the most widely used tracker brands in Europe. A lot of UK fleets already run Teltonika trackers, often without knowing it, because many platforms use them under the hood. We’ve written before about Teltonika GPS trackers and why installers like them.
When a tracker maker this established moves into AI video, it puts pressure on the dedicated dashcam brands. It also means fleets already on Teltonika hardware get a camera that fits their existing setup.
The jargon, decoded
Dashcam spec sheets are full of acronyms. Here’s what the main ones mean for you.
ADAS
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) watches the road ahead. On these cameras it warns drivers about potential collisions before they happen, including in darkness, rain and fog.
On both models, ADAS only runs on the front-facing camera. Side and rear cameras record and stream, but they don’t detect hazards. That’s normal across the market, but worth knowing before you assume a side camera will warn about cyclists.
DSM
DSM (Driver Status Monitoring) watches the driver. It picks up distraction, fatigue, phone use and other unsafe behaviour in real time.
The ProCam has a driver-facing camera built in. The KeepCam needs an optional DSM camera module, which has infrared night vision so it works in low light.
Edge AI
Edge AI means the analysis happens on the camera itself rather than in the cloud. The camera decides what’s worth flagging and only sends what matters. That keeps alerts fast and data costs down. We go deeper on this in our edge AI vs cloud AI guide.
Live streaming
Both cameras let you view footage live over 4G. The KeepCam handles up to 3 cameras in total. The ProCam supports up to 6 streaming channels, enough for close to 360° coverage around a vehicle.
Features that matter day to day
Spec sheets list everything. These are the features we think will make a real difference to UK operators.
Driver ID for up to 200 drivers. The cameras can recognise individual drivers, so scoring and reports follow the driver, not the vehicle. That’s useful for shared vehicles, rental and PHV fleets where drivers swap cars.
Built-in speaker. Fleet managers can talk to drivers directly through the camera. Handy for coaching, or for checking in after an alert.
Privacy mode on the ProCam. Driver monitoring can be switched off during breaks and rest periods. That helps with GDPR, which we cover in our guide to driver-facing cameras.
Supercapacitor backup. If power is cut in a crash, the camera has enough power to close recordings cleanly. Corrupted footage from the moment of impact is one of the most common reasons claims fall apart.
Heat management. A heatsink casing keeps the camera stable behind a hot windscreen. Overheating is a real issue for fleet cameras in summer, as we covered in dash cam overheating in hot weather.
Up to 1 TB of storage. Enough to keep footage for insurance claims, disputes and compliance checks.
Inputs and outputs. Three digital inputs, one digital output and an RS232 port. The output can drive an immobiliser relay or a buzzer. The RS232 port supports accessories like fuel sensors and RFID card readers.
Installation and setup
Both cameras run on 9 to 36 V DC and wire into the vehicle’s battery and ignition. The power input is protected against undervoltage, short circuits and reverse polarity.
They create their own Wi-Fi hotspot, so installers can configure them and preview each camera view from Teltonika’s TCT configuration tool without cables. That makes it easier to get the angle right before the vehicle goes back into service.
Extra camera modules use AHD analogue technology. The practical upside is longer cable runs, which matters on vans and truck-and-trailer setups. Rear and side modules are IP69K rated for harsh weather.
Controlling the AI
Teltonika is upfront that more alerts don’t mean better results. Too many false positives waste managers’ time, burn data and make drivers stop trusting the system.
So TCT lets you adjust alert thresholds, detection duration, notification intervals, upload settings and AI sensitivity. We’ve written a full guide to tuning ADAS and DSM alerts on these cameras.
What we don’t know yet
At the time of writing, a few things an operator would want before committing weren’t public. That includes UK pricing, full resolution specs and independent testing of AI accuracy in real fleets. We’ll update this post as we get hands-on.
Who should look at these cameras
Taxi and PHV operators wanting one device for tracking and video should start with the KeepCam. See how cameras fit into a taxi and PHV setup.
Car rental firms will like the driver ID and front-and-rear coverage for damage disputes. More on our car rental page.
Van and logistics fleets with blind spots and cargo to protect should look at the ProCam. See our logistics page.
FAQ
Do I need a Teltonika tracker to use the KeepCam or ProCam?
No. Both are standalone devices with tracking, connectivity, video and AI built in.
Can I add cameras later?
Yes. The KeepCam takes up to 2 extra modules and the ProCam up to 4, so you can start small and add rear, side or cabin cameras as needed.
Which platforms will support them?
That depends on your fleet platform. Traknova already integrates with Teltonika dashcams, so speak to us about KeepCam and ProCam support for your fleet.
