Queclink GPS Tracker Not Sending Data to Platform
Traknova
Queclink is a well-established GPS hardware manufacturer whose GV and GL series devices are used across UK fleet, logistics, and asset tracking operations. When a Queclink device stops sending data, the cause is typically one of a few known configuration issues that are straightforward to resolve.
Traknova integrates with Queclink hardware. See the Queclink integration page for setup guides and supported models.
Supported Queclink models
Common Queclink devices in UK fleet use include:
- GV300: versatile hardwired tracker for cars and LCVs.
- GV500: mid-range commercial vehicle tracker.
- GV600: advanced device with CAN bus and multiple I/O.
- GL300: compact battery-powered asset tracker.
Most common cause: GTFRI/GTERI report interval set too high
Queclink devices use a proprietary command protocol. The key command for controlling how often the device sends position reports is AT+GTFRI (Fixed Report Information) for hardwired devices, and AT+GTERI (Event Report Interval) for event-based configurations.
If the interval in these commands is set to a very high value, the device will only report infrequently. In fleet platforms with a short offline threshold, the device will appear to go offline between reports even though it is functioning correctly.
For real-time fleet tracking, configure AT+GTFRI with an interval of 30 to 120 seconds while moving. For parked vehicles, a longer interval is acceptable.
The command format for GTFRI is:
AT+GTFRI=[password],[mode],[report_interval],[distance],[corners],[fixed],[heading],[period],[send_interval],[...]<CR><LF>
Refer to the Queclink protocol document for your specific model for the full parameter list.
GPRS context not configured
Queclink devices require the GPRS context to be set before they can establish a mobile data connection. The GPRS context includes the APN for your SIM provider.
This is configured using the AT+GTBSI command (Basic Server Information) which sets the APN among other parameters.
If the GPRS context has not been configured, the device cannot connect to mobile data and will not send any data to the platform.
Common UK APN settings:
- EE:
everywhere - Vodafone:
web.vodafone.co.uk - Three:
3internet - O2:
mobile.o2.co.uk
Wrong server address format
Queclink devices are configured with a server address using the AT+GTBSI or similar commands depending on the model. The server address can be specified as a hostname (domain name) or IP address.
A common issue when migrating from one platform to another is that the old server address remains in the device configuration. The device connects to the old server, which does not recognise it, and no data appears in Traknova.
Update the server address and port using the appropriate AT command for your model. The Queclink integration page provides the correct server address and port for Traknova.
Note that some Queclink models require the server address in a specific format. Check whether your model accepts a hostname or requires a dotted IP address.
GL300: battery and sleep considerations
The GL300 is a battery-powered asset tracker designed for long-life deployments. It spends most of its time in sleep mode and wakes on a schedule or on motion.
If a GL300 appears not to be sending data:
- Check the wake interval. A device configured to wake every 24 hours will report very infrequently.
- Check the motion sensitivity. If motion detection is too insensitive, the device may not wake on movement.
- Confirm the battery is charged. A fully discharged GL300 will not send any data.
Step-by-step fix sequence
- Connect to the device via a serial terminal or configuration tool and check the current GTFRI/GTERI interval.
- Reduce the report interval to 30 to 120 seconds for active tracking.
- Check the GPRS context configuration and confirm the APN is correct.
- Check the server address in the device configuration and update it to Traknova’s values.
- For GL300 devices, check battery level, wake interval, and motion sensitivity.
- Save configuration and restart the device.
- Monitor the Traknova platform for incoming data from the device IMEI.
Queclink integration with Traknova
Traknova’s GPS tracking platform supports Queclink hardware across the GV and GL series. See the Queclink integration page for the correct AT command parameters and server configuration for each supported model.
If the device is still not sending data after these steps, book a demo or contact Traknova support with the device IMEI and model.
