TL;DR

Turo Go is Turo’s own keyless access feature, built with Continental. On an eligible car it lets a guest unlock and start the vehicle from the Turo app, which takes the pain out of key handovers. That is genuinely useful, but it is all it does. Turo Go only works on select models and in select regions, the digital version needs a paid OEM connected car subscription, and it lives entirely inside Turo, so it does nothing for any bookings you take elsewhere. There is no immobiliser, no camera, no theft protection and no fleet management. If you are running a real rental or Turo operation, you need more than a convenience feature. This guide covers the seven best alternatives, starting with Traknova, which was named Fleet Management Company of the Year at the Prestige Awards 2025/26 and is Cyber Essentials certified.

How we selected these alternatives

  • Works beyond Turo: whether it covers direct bookings and other channels, not just the Turo app
  • Coverage: how many vehicles qualify, versus Turo Go’s eligible models and regions only
  • Security depth: immobiliser, camera, tamper and crash alerts, not just keyless entry
  • Fleet visibility: live tracking, driver data and insights in one place
  • Setup and support: what needs installing, and who helps you do it
  • Total cost: what you pay to run it across the fleet

Why people switch from Turo Go

Turo Go is locked to Turo. It works inside the Turo app and nowhere else, so if you take direct bookings, run on other platforms, or operate a mixed fleet across taxi, rental or PCO, Turo Go does nothing for those vehicles. You end up back to key handovers and separate tools for everything outside Turo.

Coverage is limited. Turo Go only works on eligible makes and models in supported regions, and the digital version needs an up to date OEM connected car subscription. Older or mixed fleets, and a lot of UK cars, simply do not qualify.

It is keyless access, not security. Turo Go can locate a car and let a guest unlock it, but there is no immobiliser, no ghost immobiliser, no kill switch and no dash camera. If a renter goes rogue or a car is targeted, there is nothing to stop it and no footage afterwards.

There is no fleet management. No driver behaviour scoring, no maintenance alerts, no compliance trail, no single dashboard for the whole operation. It is one feature, not a platform.

The 7 best Turo Go alternatives

1. Traknova

traknova.com | Best for: Operators who want keyless access, tracking, security and insights for the whole fleet in one platform, on or off Turo.

Turo Go is a single feature inside a walled garden. Traknova is the opposite. It brings tracking, security and insights into one platform, one dashboard and one login, and it works across your whole operation rather than only inside Turo. Where Turo Go stops at unlocking eligible cars, Traknova adds live GPS and digital tracking, a hidden ghost immobiliser, a 4G online dash camera, crash and tamper alerts, geofencing, driver ID tags and AI driven insights like behaviour scoring and maintenance prediction. Turo integration is built in, and your team and your renters each get their own app.

It is also built to scale without the vendor pile up. Most operators cut costs by 20 to 30 percent compared with stitching separate trackers, cameras and immobilisers together, because it is one platform on one price per vehicle. Traknova is Cyber Essentials certified, GDPR compliant, runs on cloud infrastructure with 99.9 percent uptime, and was named Fleet Management Company of the Year at the Prestige Awards 2025/26.

On setup, the digital tracking goes live with no engineer visit and no vehicle downtime, so you get visibility from day one. The only part that needs a professional fitting is the security hardware, the immobiliser and camera, and that booking is exactly what makes them hidden and tamper proof rather than a dongle a renter can pull out.

Pricing: £150 installation plus £100 per device. One platform, one price per vehicle, no shared per renter fees.

Strengths

  • One platform for keyless, tracking, security and insights, not a single feature
  • Works across your whole fleet and all your channels, not only inside Turo
  • Hidden ghost immobiliser plus 4G dash camera, crash and tamper alerts
  • AI driver behaviour scoring, maintenance prediction and compliance trails
  • Digital tracking live with no engineer visit or downtime
  • Built in Turo integration, plus a business app and renter app
  • Fleet Management Company of the Year 2025/26, Cyber Essentials certified, 99.9% uptime
  • Typically 20 to 30 percent cheaper than fragmented tools

Limitations

  • The immobiliser and camera hardware needs a professional install booking, unlike a fully digital keyless feature

2. Qarhami

qarhami.com | Best for: US Turo hosts who want GPS tracking, remote lock/unlock and a kill switch on carrier grade hardware.

Qarhami is built specifically for Turo hosts and goes well beyond Turo Go. It offers real time GPS, remote lock and unlock, a kill switch, geofencing, tamper and tow alerts, and a deep native Turo integration covering trips, mileage, fuel and late returns. The hardware is carrier certified with a backup battery, and it comes in hardwired and OBD versions.

The catch is that Qarhami is a US product. The hardware is made in the USA, runs on an AT&T SIM and is supported from Houston, so it is not a fit for UK operators. It also uses a kill switch rather than a hidden ghost immobiliser, and there is no dash camera.

Pricing: Contact for pricing.

Strengths

  • Purpose built for Turo with deep trip integration
  • Remote lock, unlock and kill switch, plus geofencing
  • Carrier grade hardware with backup battery
  • Tamper and tow alerts

Limitations

  • US focused, wrong fit for UK operators
  • Kill switch rather than a hidden ghost immobiliser
  • No dash camera footage
  • Order online and arrange your own install

3. 2hire (Linkey)

2hire.io | Best for: European self-service rental firms that want fast, plug and play keyless handover.

2hire’s Linkey platform digitises car rental so renters can unlock and drive without meeting anyone. Its OBD box installs in about ten minutes, renters get keyless access through a link with no app, and it reads GPS, odometer and fuel with an OBD engine immobiliser. It can also integrate factory connected cars. For self-service rental in Europe it works well, and it is a bigger step up than Turo Go because it is not tied to one marketplace.

The device sits in the OBD port where a renter can find and unplug it, there is no dash camera, and it is aimed at European self-service rental rather than Turo hosts.

Pricing: Contact for pricing.

Strengths

  • Fast plug and play install, around ten minutes
  • No app for renters, keyless via a link
  • Works beyond a single marketplace
  • Integrates factory connected cars

Limitations

  • Exposed OBD device a renter can unplug
  • OBD based immobilisation rather than a hidden ghost immobiliser
  • No dash camera integration
  • Built mainly for European self-service rental

4. MoboKey

mobokey.com | Best for: Hosts who want a phone based digital key and a remote kill switch across most makes and models.

MoboKey turns a smartphone into a digital car key and is a common Turo Go alternative for cars Turo Go does not support. It offers keyless pickup, time limited digital key sharing, real time location and a remote kill switch through the CAN bus or ignition wiring, and it works across most vehicles regardless of make or model.

It is more a digital key and kill switch than a full fleet platform. There is no dash camera, and it uses a kill switch rather than a hidden ghost immobiliser.

Pricing: Contact for pricing.

Strengths

  • Works across most makes and models, unlike Turo Go
  • Phone based digital key with time limited sharing
  • Remote kill switch via CAN bus or ignition wiring
  • Good fit where Turo Go is not available

Limitations

  • More a digital key and kill switch than a full fleet platform
  • No dash camera integration
  • Setup and support vary by installer

5. Standard Fleet

standardfleet.com | Best for: Larger connected car fleets that want software led management and automation.

Standard Fleet is a modern fleet management platform with a strong Turo integration, built around connected and OEM enabled vehicles. It focuses on running operations through software and automating the day to day, which suits operators with newer connected cars who want a polished software layer above the fleet.

Because it leans on the car’s built in connectivity, it is less about installing your own hidden security hardware and immobiliser, and there is no camera security layer.

Pricing: Contact for pricing.

Strengths

  • Polished, software led fleet management
  • Strong Turo integration
  • Automation for day to day operations
  • Good for connected and OEM enabled vehicles

Limitations

  • Relies on built in vehicle connectivity rather than your own hidden hardware
  • Less focused on ghost immobilisers and tamper proof install
  • No dash camera security layer

6. WeCar

wecar.uk | Best for: UK Turo hosts who want a ghost immobiliser and a remote access rental platform.

WeCar is a UK platform for Turo hosts that combines a ghost immobiliser communicating with the ECU over the CAN circuit with remote access, so hosts can rent further afield with confidence. Being UK based with a real ghost immobiliser, it is a much stronger security option than Turo Go for local operators.

Compared with Traknova it offers a narrower feature set, with less emphasis on dash camera integration, crash alerts, AI insights and a full dashboard with a dedicated account manager.

Pricing: Contact for pricing.

Strengths

  • UK based, built for Turo hosts
  • Ghost immobiliser wired to the ECU over CAN
  • Remote access for rentals beyond your local area

Limitations

  • Narrower feature set than a full fleet platform
  • No dash camera integration
  • Less in the way of crash alerts, insights and account management

7. HQ Rental Software

hqrentalsoftware.com | Best for: Rental firms that mainly need booking and back office software, not security hardware.

HQ Rental Software is car rental management software covering reservations, online booking, contracts, payments and back office admin. If your gap is booking and paperwork rather than keyless access and security, it does that job well, and unlike Turo Go it is not tied to a single marketplace.

It is software only, with no keyless access, tracking or immobiliser. You would still need a device and immobiliser provider like Traknova underneath it.

Pricing: Contact for pricing.

Strengths

  • Full booking, contract and payment management
  • Online reservations and back office admin
  • Works across channels, not just Turo

Limitations

  • Software only, no keyless access, tracking or hardware
  • No remote lock, unlock or immobiliser
  • Needs a separate security and telematics provider

Our verdict

Turo Go is a nice convenience feature if your cars qualify and you only ever rent on Turo. It is not a security system and it is not fleet management, and the moment you take a booking off Turo or add a car that does not qualify, you are on your own. Traknova is the natural step up: keyless, tracking, a hidden ghost immobiliser, dash camera and AI insights in one platform that works across your whole operation, for a simple £150 install plus £100 per device, from a Fleet Management Company of the Year winner. Qarhami is strong if you are US based, WeCar is a solid UK ghost immobiliser option, MoboKey is a flexible digital key, 2hire suits European self-service rental, Standard Fleet is software led for connected fleets, and HQ Rental Software handles booking rather than security.
